Box Score

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel built a 14-3 first-quarter lead and never trailed in a 42-34 Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball win over Ursinus on Saturday.

Jasmine Smith (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) led the Green Terror (8-8, 6-5 CC) with 14 points, including 10 in the first half.

Lydia Konstanzer led the Bears (9-8, 6-6 CC) with eight points and five rebounds.

After Alyssa March (Fallston, Md./Fallston) and Konstanzer traded layups to open the game, five straight points from Smith keyed a 9-0 run for McDaniel.

After Kaci McNeave hit the second of two free throws with 1:46 remaining to snap a nearly seven-minute scoring drought, Karli Zeps (Reisterstown, Md./Seton Keough) converted a three-point play at the other end to push the lead to double digits.

The lead remained in double figures until Ursinus scored six straight points to make it a 35-27 game with 1:04 to play in the third quarter.

A Sarah Bach (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) layup with 39 ticks remaining once again made it a 10-point game entering the fourth quarter.

The teams combined to shoot 5-for-20 in the fourth quarter with 10 turnovers en route to the eight-point final margin.

Zeps finished with 10 points and six rebounds while March added seven points and seven boards.
