WESTMINSTER, Md. – Messiah won the final bouts to capture a 37-15 win over McDaniel in non-conference wrestling action on Wednesday.
Ryan O'Boyle (North Reading, Mass./Central Catholic) led the Green Terror (11-8) with a first-period fall at 133.
Lucas Malmberg led the fourth-ranked Falcons (18-7) with the first of six match termination wins, including four that came by fall.
Jeff Hojnacki earned a third-period technical fall by a 19-3 score midway through the final period to close the deficit to 15-14.
First-period pins by Derek Beitz (174) and Josh Thomson (184) gave Messiah a 26-15 lead. Beitz won in 2:48 before Thomson ended the bout in 2:33.
Koser wrapped up an 18-2 technical fall early in the third period to secure the Falcons' 13th straight victory.
Nick Havener wrapped up the night, turning a near reversal into a 5-minute, 35-second pin.
Malmberg opened the evening with a 1-minute, 25-second pin at 125 before O'Boyle and Alvontae Drummond (Lincoln, Del./Milford) turned the six-point deficit into a six-point lead. O'Boyle notched a 2-minute, 11-second fall at 133 before Drummond was awarded a forfeit win at 141.
Greg Kabakjian cut the deficit in half with a 13-6 victory at 149 before Erik Meyer (Fallston, Md./Archbishop Curley) got the three points back at 157.
Meyer held off a possible takedown three times in the third period to cling to a 6-5 victory and extend the McDaniel lead back to six.
The Green Terror returns to action at the NCAA Div. III East Regional hosted by Washington and Lee on Saturday, Feb. 27. Action begins at 11 a.m.
