GRANTHAM, Pa. – Billy Emerson (Germantown, Md./Watkins Mill) finished 3-2 with a pair of pins at heavyweight for McDaniel at the Petrofes Invitational hosted by Messiah in wrestling action on Friday and Saturday.

Scoring:

• The Green Terror placed 11th with 48.5 points. Messiah won its own 14-team tournament with 209 points, outdistancing second-place Gettysburg by 78.5 points.

Place In This World: The following athletes placed in the top eight at the invitational:

• Alvontae Drummond (Lincoln, Del./Milford) placed fourth at 141. He went 2-0 on Friday to advance to the semifinals. After earning a bye in the opening round, Drummond recorded an 8-7 win over Derek Bohle (Springfield) before topping Micah Powell (Alderson Broaddus) 7-5 in the quarterfinals. On Saturday morning, Drummond dropped a 2-0 decision to Mount Union's Alec Cotton to fall to the consolation bracket. Drummond defeated Gettysburg's Colin Devlin 9-8 in the consolation semifinals. In the third-place bout, Drummond medically forfeited the bout to finish fourth.
• Billy Emerson finished seventh at heavyweight. His day started with a bye before he pinned West Virginia Tech's Jon Boarman in 1:10. Emerson fell to top-seeded Paul Triandafilou (Gettysburg) 8-1 in the quarterfinals to fall to the consolation bracket. Emerson topped Mark Allen (Mount Union) 9-7 to advance to Saturday's action. In his first bout on Saturday, Emerson was pinned by Mike Sinclair (Mount Union) in 1:09. In the seventh-place match, Emerson recorded a 2-minute, 38-second fall over Greensboro's Carlos Ortega.

• Liam St. John (Baltimore, Md./Towson) recorded a pair of falls as part of his 2-2 day at 133. He downed Brandon White (Mount Union) in 3:56 in his first match of the consolation bracket before following that up with a 4-minute, 24-second pin of Tyler Zimmerman (Baltimore, Md./Our Lady of Mount Carmel).
• Aadam Abdullahi (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill Academy) added two pins as part of his 2-2 day at 157. After falling in his first match of the day, he recorded back-to-back pins in the consolation bracket. Abdullahi downed Messiah's Josh Toal in 43 seconds before pinning Charles Bartz (Mount Union) in 2:21.
• Erik Meyer (Fallston, Md./Archbishop Curley) recorded one pin as part of his 2-2 day at 157. In his first match of the consolation bracket, Meyer downed Gettysburg's Tristan Chen 27 seconds into the final period.
• Luke Crowe (Baltimore, Md./Dundalk) recorded his lone win at 165 by fall. In the first round of the consolation bracket, he defeated Rob Saraf (Bridgewater State) in 18 seconds.
• Jake Pooton (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) went 2-2 at 197 with a single pin. He advanced to the quarterfinals with a 2-minute, 47-second fall of Mount Union's Cody Carr.
