Palin's second-half goal stands for win

WINCHESTER, Va. – McDaniel found the back of the net for the game's lone goal in the 61st minute to top Shenandoah 1-0 in non-conference men's soccer action on Wednesday.

Pat Palin (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) led the Green Terror (3-5-2) with his second goal of the season.

Keegan Fairchild made seven saves for the Hornets (0-10) in goal.

Off a corner kick, Palin collected the ball after Shenandoah was unable to successfully clear the ball and found the back of the net with 29:45 to play for what would be the game's lone goal.

Shenandoah recorded five of its 10 shots in the final 22 minutes but stop defensive play forced only one was to be on frame, which Nick Over (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) saved for his fourth stop of the game.

McDaniel finished with 11 shots and nine corner kicks.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against No. 12 Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
