Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel built a 3-0 halftime lead en route to a 5-0 win over Washington Adventist in non-conference men's soccer action on Wednesday.
Kerry Shutt (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) led the Green Terror (4-6-2) with a pair of goals.
Jordhon Horelien made two saves for the Shock (4-7) in goal.
Nearly six minutes into the game, Jacob Bickley (College Park, Md./Frederick) played a ball through up the right sideline from near midfield. Philip Bonsu (Columbia, Md./Wilde Like) collected the ball and beat the keeper before finishing on a wide-open net for his first collegiate goal at the 6:02 mark.
Shutt converted a penalty kick just over 20 minutes later to double the advantage.
In the 39th minute, Pat Palin (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) scored his fourth goal in the last five games. From the right side, Nick Cavasina (Baltimore, Md./Our Lady of Mount Carmel) played a short ball to Palin on the near post. With his back to the net, the freshman flicked it into the far side for a 3-0 lead.
Raul Escobar (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) made it a 4-0 game in the 80th minute with a blast from the top-left of the box.
Shutt capped the scoring, heading in a Michael Thompson (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) corner kick with 2:30 to play.
Nick Over (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) and Tim Hahn (Glen Rock, Pa./Glen Rock) combined for the shutout in goal. Over made two saves in 70 minutes while Hahn had one save in the final 20.
McDaniel finished with a 14-6 advantage in shots and 8-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The Green Terror returns to action at Swarthmore on Saturday. Game time is 7 p.m.
