Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel opened up a 15-point first-quarter lead en route to a 73-32 victory over Bryn Mawr in non-conference women's basketball action on Thursday.
Karli Zeps (Reisterstown, Md./Seton Keough) led the Green Terror (9-2) with 12 points to go with career bests of seven assists and six steals. Brittney Davis (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) added seven helpers of her own to give her 333 for her career, moving her into second place on the all-time list. Lindsey Nichols (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) led the way in the scoring column with 16 points – 14 of which came after halftime – in a game where all 11 players who were dressed scored at least one basket.
Freshman Erica Dwyer led the Owls(3-8) with nine points, failing to reach double digits for the first time in 11 collegiate games.
McDaniel jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the game's first 4:29 behind four points each from Zeps and Melanie Yeomans (Brunswick, Md./South Hagerstown).
After Dwyer hit a 3-pointer to get Bryn Mawr on the board, Halle Burgess (Ashton, Md./Good Counsel) drained back-to-back triples to help the hosts closed the half on a 10-0 burst.
The run extended to 16 straight points through the first two minutes of the second quarter.
The lead swelled to 33-5 with 3:38 to play in the first half before the Owls scored eight straight points. Renie Tsomos (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Air) hit a jumper to make it a 35-13 game at the break.
The third-quarter lead gradually grew as large as 38 before a Nichols 3-pointer 43 seconds into the fourth period made it a 40-point margin for the first time.
Tsomos finished with nine points while Burgess added eight points and six rebounds. Libby Dougherty (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) led the way on the glass with eight boards.
The Green Terror returns to action at Ursinus on Saturday. Game time is 3 p.m.
