Tim Stewart (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) led the Green Terror (5-5, 2-2 CC) with 16 points while Wes Brooks (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) added 11 points.
Cedric Moune posted a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds to pace the 17th-ranked Diplomats (9-2, 4-0 CC) and give 45th-year head coach Glenn Robinson career win No. 899.
Lionel Owona and Hunter Eggers staked Franklin & Marshall to a 4-0 lead just 1:32 into the game and visitors never trailed.
Brooks and Owona traded buckets before a Kevin Yrizarry (Owings Mills, Md./Owings Mills) layup once again cut the deficit to two with 17:28 showing.
A Brandon Federici jumper capped eight straight Diplomat points and pushed the lead to 18-8 with 10:42 on the clock before the Green Terror countered with eight of the next 10 points to close the deficit to 20-16 on an Austin Cannon (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) slicing layup.
Five straight points from Federici keyed the 9-0 run. Franklin & Marshall carried a 33-20 lead into the intermission.
Baskets from Yrizarry and Stewart cut the deficit to nine just 1:53 into the second half but the hosts would get no closer.
Five points from Jared Wright keyed a 7-0 burst that stretched the lead to 46-28 and secured the victory with 11:16 to play.
McDaniel returns to action at Ursinus on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
