WESTMINSTER, Md. – Gwynedd Mercy needed overtime to top McDaniel 2-1 in non-conference men's soccer action on Saturday.

Kerry Shutt (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) tallied the lone goal for the Green Terror (1-1), forcing overtime with an unassisted tally at the 82:08 mark.

Rich Mychack found the back of the net for the Griffins (1-1) just 2:59 into overtime.

Eric Smith drew the goalie out before beating him and knocking the ball home into a wide open net in the 67th minute for a 1-0 lead.

Nick Over (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) made four saves for McDaniel.

Gwynedd Mercy finished with a slim 14-11 edge in shots, including the only attempt of the extra session, while the Green Terror had a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Baruch on Sunday. Game time is 2 p.m.
