Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – Stevenson had four players in double-digit digs to key a 3-0 win over McDaniel in non-conference volleyball action on Wednesday.
Caroline Savin (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) led the Green Terror (9-5) on attack with seven kills to go with two total blocks. Taylor Bauman (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) steadied the defense with 22 digs while Genna Weger (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) added 12 digs.
Deanna Bradbury led the Mustangs (13-6) with 17 digs while Annika Schwartz added 12 to go with 10 kills for a double-double. Kristen Brooks chipped in 12 digs while Kara Anderson had 10. Bradbury also had four aces.
Two Bradbury aces keyed a 4-0 start to the match by Stevenson before McDaniel battled back behind kills from Lexi Corral (Tuscon, Ariz./Gaithersburg [Md.]) and Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) and a Bauman ace to even the set at 11-all.
Kelly McKenzie and Savin traded kills before a Brooks kill sparked an 8-0 run that gave the visitors a 20-12 lead en route to a 25-17 victory.
The Mustangs jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second set before kills from Savin and Corral keyed a 3-0 counter.
Stevenson, however, reeled off nine of the next 11 points to take a 12-5 lead.
The Green Terror closed to within 22-17 but the Mustangs closed out the set to take a 2-0 lead by a 25-18 margin.
McDaniel took the first point of the third set before Stevenson recorded six of the next seven points to open up a 6-2 advantage en route to a 25-13 win.
The Green Terror returns to action at Ursinus on Saturday. Match time is 1 p.m.
