Over makes five saves

Box Score

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Dickinson needed nearly 109 minutes before scoring the game-winning goal to escape McDaniel with a 1-0 Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer win on Wednesday.

Nick Over (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) led the Green Terror (2-5-2, 0-3 CC) in goal with five saves.

Danny Sheppard tallied his team-leading sixth goal of the year for the Red Devils (6-2-1, 2-0-1 CC) for the game's lone goal.

Off a Jonathan Harper corner kick, Sheppard was able to get enough on the ball at the top-right corner of the box and hit the far side of the net for the game-winner with just 1:16 remaining in the second overtime.

McDaniel's best scoring chance came late in the first half when Andrew Hofmeister (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) served a ball from the left side of the field with an open backside of the net but no one was able to get a head on the ball before it sailed out of bounds.

Dickinson finished with a 13-5 advantage in shots.

The Green Terror returns to action at Washington (Md.) on Saturday. Game time is 4 p.m.
