McDonald posts shutout in eighth straight win

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel scored a goal in each half to defeat Frostburg 2-0 in non-conference women's soccer action on Wednesday.

Sarah McDonald (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) posted her second individual shutout of the year for the Green Terror (8-0), who improved on its best start in program history with a perfect 8-0 mark. McDonald made six saves in net.

Paige Gray and Rhianna Lapen split time in goal for the Bobcats (4-5), combining for five saves. Gray had three stops in the first half while Lapen made two in the second half.

Kristen Upton (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) got McDaniel on the board at the 14-minute mark, finishing a Nicole Hill (Bowie, Md./Bowie) corner kick for a 1-0 lead.

Hill notched her second helper of the day in the 66th minute, finding Abby Keen (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) with an insurance goal.

Frostburg finished with a slim 15-14 edge in shots, including a 9-5 advantage in the second half. Each team took four corner kicks.

The Green Terror returns to action at Bryn Mawr on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
