Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – St. Mary's (Md.) scored twice in the first half en route to a 5-1 win over McDaniel in non-conference men's soccer action on Wednesday.
Storm Robinson (Baltimore, Md./Our Lady of Mount Carmel) led the Green Terror (2-2-1) with a goal in the 56th minute.
Five different players scored for the Seahawks (3-3), including Andrew Battin, who had a goal and an assist on the day.
Zach Fontenot finished a Battin ball to the middle of the box in the 36th minute to take St. Mary's to a 1-0 lead.
Sunny Chhatani doubled the lead in the 43rd minute, collecting a loose ball in the middle of the box and turning to find the back of the net.
Luke Barber headed in a Yonah Zeitz corner kick to make it 3-0 just 5:34 into the second half before Robinson broke up the shutout, blasting home a pass from Raul Escobar (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) just over five minutes later.
Battin went sliding after the rebound off a Nick Tait shot-and-save to re-establish the three-goal advantage in the 68th minute.
Trestan Ondiek set the final margin, blasting home a shot in the final second.
Nick Over (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) finished with six saves while Zack Haussler made five for the Seahawks.
St. Mary's finished with a 19-12 advantage in shots while McDaniel held an 8-6 edge in corner kicks.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Muhlenberg to open the Centennial Conference schedule on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
