Robinson makes lone goal stand for victory

DOVER, Del. – McDaniel carried the play in the second half, finding the back of the net to notch a 1-0 win at Wesley in the men's soccer season opener for both teams on Tuesday.

Storm Robinson (Baltimore, Md./Our Lady of Mount Carmel) found the back of the net in the 72nd minute to give the Green Terror (1-0) its fourth straight season-opening win.

Zack Baker made one save for the Wolverines (0-1), who finished with a 21-13 advantage in shots but could not find the back of the net.

Robinson finished a pass from Pablo Bendana (Rockville, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) to notch his first collegiate goal, breaking up the shutout with 18:02 to play.

Nick Over (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) made six saves to pitch the shutout for McDaniel.

The Green Terror finished with an 11-8 edge in corner kicks.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Gwynedd-Mercy on Saturday. Game time is 4 p.m.
