McDaniel earns NCAA bid

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – McDaniel learned on Monday afternoon that its season will continue with an at-large bid into the NCAA Division III women's basketball field.

The Green Terror (24-3) fell to Muhlenberg 68-64 in Saturday's Centennial Conference (CC) championship game but earned one of 20 Pool C bids into the field of 64.

McDaniel will travel to Salisbury, Md., for the opening round of the tournament. The Green Terror will take on Stockton in the first game on Friday. The host Sea Gulls battle Bridgewater State in the other game. The winners will meet in the second round on Saturday. Game times will be announced on Tuesday.

The Ospreys (21-6) fell to Montclair in the NJAC championship game 59-42 but earned one of the at-large bids.

Bridgewater State (16-10) won the automatic qualifier out of the MASCAC, defeating Westfield State, 60-57.

Salisbury (25-2) won the automatic qualifier out of the Capital Athletic Conference, defeating Mary Washington 74-68 in double overtime.

The Green Terror is making its sixth NCAA tournament berth and earned its second at-large bid. McDaniel was also an at-large selection to the tournament in 2007.

Lindsey Nichols (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) leads the Green Terror in scoring (18.1 ppg) and is tied for the team lead with 63 3-pointers. She also has a team-high 54 steals to go with 40 assists.

Steph Perez (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) is second on the team in scoring (11.3 ppg) and has also hit 63 3-pointer this season. She is shooting .413 from the floor, including hitting .423 from long range.

Alyssa March (Fallston, Md./Fallston) leads the team in rebounding (7.1 rpg) and is third in scoring (9.0 ppg).

Brittney Davis (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) has a team-best 135 assists and has nabbed 44 steals.
