INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – McDaniel will travel to Huntingdon, Pa., for the 2015 NCAA Division III volleyball regional, beginning on Friday.
Playing in Memorial Gymnasium on the campus of Juniata, the sixth-seeded Green Terror (21-7) will play third-seeded Heidelberg. The Student Princes (26-6) defeated Ohio Northern on Saturday to win the Ohio Athletic Conference championship. Match time is 12:30 p.m.
The winner of that match will face the winner of the second first-round matchup between Wittenberg and Bluffton on Saturday. Mary Washington squares off with Case Western Reserve in the third match of the day while top-seeded Juniata hosts Franciscan in the final match of the day. Those two winners will meet in the other regional semifinal on Saturday with the winners meeting on Sunday.
The regional champion will advance to championship weekend at the Van Noord Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Nov. 19-21.
Admission to the regional is $6 for general admission, $4 for students and $3 for children under the age of 12. All-session passes are available for $12 for general admission, $10 for students and $7 for children under the age of 12
McDaniel is making its seventh NCAA tournament appearance and first since 1989. The Green Terror won its third Centennial Conference (CC) championship on Sunday. McDaniel defeated Haverford 3-2 for its first tournament title.
Senior Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage), the CC tournament MVP, leads McDaniel with 329 kills and is second on the team with 274 digs. She has added 28 total blocks.
Senior Madeline Rose (Soddy Daisy, Tenn./Baylor School) is second on the team with 205 kills while leading the way with 67 total blocks. She has added 27 aces.
Junior Lexi Corral (Tucson, Ariz./Gaithersburg [Md.]) has matched Rose with 67 total blocks and ranks third on the team with 170 kills. Sophomore Teryn Rath (Grass Valley, Calif./Bear River) has added 165 kills.
Freshman Taylor Bauman (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) leads the defense with 432 digs while junior Genna Weger (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) has added 258 digs. Weger also has a team-best 28 aces.
Senior Colette Kellen (Olney, Md./Covenant Life) and junior Maddie Moyer (Brookeville, Md./Sherwood) have contributed 491 and 365 assists, respectively, to the attack. Kellen has added with 27 aces and 187 digs. Moyer has chipped in 26 aces and 137 digs.
