McDaniel to battle for CC title

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel will host Franklin & Marshall in the first-round match of the 2015 Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball championship on Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m.

The winner advances to Saturday's semifinals in Baltimore, Md.

Top-seeded Johns Hopkins (12-10, 8-2 CC) will host Wednesday's winner in the first semifinal to begin at 1 p.m. Second-seeded Haverford (19-9, 8-2 CC) will face third-seeded Swarthmore (19-8, 8-2 CC) in the day's other semifinal 60 minutes following the conclusion of the first semifinal.

The semifinal winners will advance to Sunday's championship match, which will be held at Johns Hopkins on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The tournament's champion will earn the CC's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division III tournament, slated to begin on Nov. 13. The NCAA field will be announced on Sunday night.

The Green Terror claimed conference crowns in 1994 and 1999. It is the fifth tournament appearance for McDaniel.

In the regular-season meeting between the Green Terror and Diplomats, Franklin & Marshall posted a 3-1 win in Westminster on Oct. 14.

Senior Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) led McDaniel during the regular season with 281 kills and was second on the team with 239 digs. She added 25 total blocks.

Senior Madeline Rose (Soddy Daisy, Tenn./Baylor School) was second on the team during the regular season with 171 kills while leading the way with 58 total blocks. She added 25 aces.

Junior Lexi Corral (Tucson, Ariz./Gaithersburg [Md.]) matched Rose with 58 total blocks and ranked third on the team with 147 kills. Sophomore Teryn Rath (Grass Valley, Calif./Bear River) added 144 kills.

Freshman Taylor Bauman (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) led the defense with 375 digs while junior Genna Weger (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) added 229 digs.

Senior Colette Kellen (Olney, Md./Covenant Life) and junior Maddie Moyer (Brookeville, Md./Sherwood) contributed 410 and 315 assists, respectively, to the attack. Kellen led the way with 27 aces and added 166 digs. Moyer added 24 aces and 110 digs.
