WESTMINSTER, Md. – Lycoming won five of the first seven matches en route to a 28-15 win over McDaniel in non-conference wrestling action on Thursday.
Jake Pooton (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) led the Green Terror (0-1) with a pin at 197.
Brandon Conrad capped the opening stretch for the Warriors (1-0), nearly securing the match with a his 1-minute, 44-second fall at 174.
Kyle Drick and Andres Aguilar staked Lycoming to a 6-0 lead, winning by decisions at 125 and 133. Drick won 8-2 before Aguilar took a 10-4 win.
Ryan O'Boyle (North Reading, Mass./Central Catholic) cut the deficit in half with an 8-4 win at 141.
Seth Lansberry pushed the Warriors' lead to 12-3 with a first-period fall at 149.
Wade Bishop (Greensboro, Md./North Caroline) responded with a 5-3 win at 157 before Nolan Borger took the 165 bout by a 10-2 margin.
Conrad's fall made it a 22-6 lead with three matches remaining.
Nick Cross (Centreville, Md./Queen Anne's County) notched a 4-2 win at 184 before Pooton recorded his fall in 2:07.
Max Lampert closed out the match with a 56-second pin at heavyweight.
The Green Terror returns to action at the Ursinus Fall Brawl on Saturday. Action begins at 9 a.m.
