Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel scored four goals in the second half to top Dickinson 4-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Wednesday.
Maggie Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Green Terror (12-0, 4-0 CC), who debuted in the d3soccer.com poll at 25th this week.
Amanda Masterson led the Red Devils (5-4-2, 1-2 CC) with four saves in goal.
After a scoreless first half in which both defenses shined, McDaniel had a corner kick in the 47th minute. Nicole Hill (Bowie, Md./Bowie), the reigning CC Offensive Player of the Week, sent the ball to the back post, where Kristen Upton (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) headed it home for a 1-0 lead.
Christina Wroblewski (Glen Mills, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) played a ball ahead to Quinn, who fired the shot home from the top-left side of the box to double the lead at the 61:59 mark.
Abby Keen (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) played a corner kick to the back post in the 72nd minute that Jess Beall (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) headed off the post and in for her first goal of the year.
Wroblewski returned the favor for Quinn nearly four minutes later, taking the pass and turning on her defender before sliding it home for the final margin.
Dickinson had a chance at a 1-0 lead when the visitors were awarded a penalty kick in the 27th minute but Sarah McDonald (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) made one of her six saves to keep it a scoreless game.
McDaniel finished with a 14-10 edge in shots and 13-6 advantage in corner kicks.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
