Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel scored just 2:29 into the game en route to a 3-1 win over Haverford in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Saturday.
On her Senior Day, Maggie Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) had a hand in all three goals for the Green Terror (14-0-2, 6-0-2 CC), scoring a goal and adding two assists. With the win, McDaniel secured a berth in the upcoming conference tournament and needs just one more win or tie in one of its final two games to assure itself a first-round bye.
Raina Fitzpatrick led the Fords (10-4-1, 3-4-1 CC) with the visitors' lone goal.
Nicole Hill (Bowie, Md./Bowie) knocked in a Quinn cross for an early 1-0 lead.
That lead held until 61 seconds into the second half when Quinn knocked in a free kick from Abby Keen (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) to double the advantage.
Fitzpatrick was able to collected a deflected save off a Jo Haller shot to cut the deficit in half in the 55th minute.
Lindsey Farrell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) pushed the lead back to two in the 70th minute, bodying a ball into the net off a pass from Quinn.
The Green Terror finished with a slim 5-4 edge in shots and 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
Sarah McDonald (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) made two saves in goal.
The Green Terror returns to action at Johns Hopkins on Tuesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
