Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel scored twice in the first 11:10 en route to a 5-0 victory over Juniata in non-conference women's soccer action on Thursday.
Nicole Hill (Bowie, Md./Bowie) led the Green Terror (3-0) with a goal and two assists, including opening the scoring in the eighth minute.
Kerry Leonard made five saves for the Eagles (1-2) in goal.
Julia Pope (Manchester, Md./North Carroll) sent a long pass in from the right side that Hill was able to get her head on and place in the back of the net for a 1-0 lead just 7:16 into the game.
Nearly four minutes later, Sam Gasior (Fallston, Md./Fallston) sent a ball in from midfield that took a big bounce over the goalkeeper's head and under the crossbar to double the advantage.
In the 23rd minute, Hill centered a pass from the right corner that Meghan Sturgill (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) one-touched in the back of the net for a 3-0 advantage that held through the first half.
In the 56th minute, Pope had a shot that bounced off the left post back out to Kristen Upton (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South), who put the ball right back. Off a save, Christina Wroblewski (Glen Mills, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) knocked in the third attempt from short range for a 4-0 lead.
Elizabeth Reid (Ashburn, Va./Briar Woods) capped the scoring, finishing a centering pass from Hill with 50 seconds left.
McDaniel finished with advantages of 17-6 in shots and 6-2 in corner kicks.
Haley Jacobs (Forest Hill, Md./North Harford) and Sarah McDonald (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) combined for the shutout. Jacobs made two saves in 71 minutes while McDonald had one save in 19 minutes.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Susquehanna on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
