Jacobs makes four saves

ALLENTOWN, Md. – Muhlenberg broke a scoreless deadlock with 54 seconds remaining in the first overtime to defeat McDaniel 1-0 in the Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer opener for both teams on Saturday.

Haley Jacobs (Forest Hill, Md./North Harford) made four saves to lead the Green Terror (5-1-1, 0-1 CC), who suffered its first loss of the season.

Abby Lazofsky netted the game-winner for the Mules (6-0-1, 1-0 CC), knocking in a Carly DeNigris corner kick at the far post.

Nicole Hill (Bowie, Md./Bowie) and Maggie Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) took three shots apiece for McDaniel which had its scoreless streak snapped at 572:53.

Muhlenberg finished with a slim 12-11 edge in shots and 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Green Terror returns to action at Frostburg on Tuesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
