Box Score YORK, Pa. – McDaniel used late runs in each of the first two sets to key a 3-0 win over York (Pa.) in non-conference volleyball action on Wednesday.
Genna Weger (Shrewsbury, Pa./Shrewsbury) led the Green Terror (7-1) with 14 digs and added six assists. Maddie Moyer (Brookeville, Md./Sherwood) added 10 assists and half of the team's 10 service aces.
Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) led the attack with 13 kills while adding nine digs, two blocks and two aces. Madeline Rose (Soddy Daisy, Tenn./Baylor High) chipped in six total blocks while adding five kills and four digs. Colette Kellen (Olney, Md./Covenant Life) added 13 assists and seven digs.
Katherine Graziano led the Spartans (2-4) with 19 digs while Charlotte Sabatano and Kristin Martinak also reach double digits with 10 each. Sabaano led the attack with seven kills.
McDaniel jumped out to a 4-0 lead and extended the lead out to 20-11 before an out-of-rotation call took four points off the board and made it a 16-12 score in the first set.
However, the Green Terror tallied seven of the final nine points for a 25-17 win.
Knotted at 10-all in the second set, McDaniel went on a 6-1 run keyed by three of Martin's kills. York closed the deficit to 19-18 but the Green Terror scored the final six points of the set for a 25-18 win.
McDaniel scored five straight points and eight of nine overall to take a 20-11 lead in the final set. York closed the deficit to 24-21 before an attacking error gave the Green Terror the set and the match.
The Green Terror returns to action at home in a tri-match with Goucher and Penn State-Abington on Saturday. Action begins at 12 p.m.
