Box Score 2 GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) recorded 27 kills and 24 digs to lead McDaniel to a 2-0 second day at the Battlefield Classic in volleyball action on Saturday.
The Green Terror (4-0) wrapped up a perfect weekend at the tournament with a 3-1 win over Marietta and a 3-0 victory over Messiah.
Against the Pioneers (0-4), McDaniel dropped the first set 25-14 before rallying to win three straight, 25-16, 25-22, 25-19. The Green Terror wrapped up the weekend with a 25-17 win to start the sweep of the Falcons (2-2), wrapping up that match with matching 26-24 victories.
In the opening match, Martin led the way with 17 kills while Reagan Folaron (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) added 13 knockdowns. Colette Kellen (Olney, Md./Covenant Life) chipped in 24 assists while Maddie Moyer (Brookeville, Md./Sherwood) added 21 helpers and three aces. Lexi Corral (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) added nine kills and three total blocks.
Kellen led the defense with 14 digs while Genna Weger (Shrewsbury, Pa./Shrewsbury) and Martin added 12 apiece. Alyssa Gilboy (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) added 10 digs while Folaron and Moyer had nine each.
Against Messiah, Martin was the only McDaniel player to reach double-digit kills but Corral added eight while Madeline Rose ((Soddy Daisy, Tenn./Baylor High) and Caroline Savin (Shrewsbury, Pa./Shrewsbury) added six apiece.
Moyer chipped in 18 assists while Kellen added 14 helpers and two aces.
Weger led the defense with 17 digs while Martin added 12 and two blocks.
Rose earned a spot on the all-tournament team after helping the team to a 4-0 weekend.
The Green Terror opens the home schedule against Notre Dame (Md.) on Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m.
