McDonald makes 17 saves in title game

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Arcadia finished with a 25-5 advantage in shots but needed overtime to prevail 2-1 over McDaniel in the championship game of the 2014 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South women's soccer tournament on Sunday.

Sarah McDonald (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) led the Green Terror (10-6-5) in net, making 17 saves for the second day in a row.

Alyssa Ferraro netted the golden goal for the Knights (18-6), finishing a long cross that bounced high in the box and over the keeper with 2:26 to play in the first 10-minute extra session.

Off an Erica Diffendal (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) corner kick in the 68th minute, Christina Wroblewski (Glen Mills, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) finished off a feed from her sister Catherine Wroblewski (Glen Mills, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) for a 1-0 McDaniel lead.

Jackie Glanfield crossed a ball from the right side that Tara Smith headed in for the equalizer in the 77th minute.
