Box Score CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – McDaniel built a 2-0 halftime lead, holding DeSales without a shot en route to a 3-0 win in the quarterfinals of the 2014 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South women's soccer tournament on Wednesday.
Katie Kirschenmann (Damascus, Md./Damascus) scored her first two collegiate goals to lead the fifth-seeded Green Terror (10-5-4) into the semifinals. McDaniel will travel to top-seeded Lebanon Valley on Saturday and take on the host Dutchmen in one semifinal. Game times will be announced on Thursday.
Shannon Pennella led the fourth-seeded Bulldogs (10-7-4) with three saves in goal.
Kirschenmann took advantage of a DeSales miscue and hopped a shot over the keeper's hand to stake the visitors to a 1-0 lead just 3:31 into the contest.
In the 35th minute, Maggie Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) crossed a ball that went through the keeper's hands and to Kirschenmann, who finished to double the advantage.
Christina Wroblewski (Glen Mills, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) put back a Quinn shot-and-save to set the final margin in the 75th minute.
The Green Terror finished with a 17-8 advantage in shots, including 8-0 in the first half.
