Box Score 2 WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel ran its current winning streak to six matches with a pair of victories on Saturday that included a 3-1 Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball win over Ursinus.
Madeline Rose (Soddy Daisy, Tenn./Baylor High) led the Green Terror (16-4, 2-2 CC) with 10 kills and 10 total blocks over the two matches. Reagan Folaron (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) added 13 kills, four aces and four blocks.
In the day's opener, McDaniel topped Ursinus 25-6 and 25-10 in the first two sets before the Bears (11-6, 1-3 CC) forced a fourth set with a 25-20 win. The Green Terror wrapped up the victory with a 25-19 win in the fourth set.
Three Rose aces keyed a 7-0 run that took the first set from 14-5 to 21-5.
In the second set, McDaniel jumped out to a 6-1 lead en route to the 15-point win.
Three straight attack errors ended the third set but the Green Terror responded with the first four points of the fourth set en route to the win.
Karla Thiele led Ursinus with 15 kills.
Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) led the way for McDaniel with 11 kills while Folaron added nine and Rose had six kills and seven blocks. Caroline Savin (Shrewsbury, Pa./Shrewsbury) added six blocks.
The balanced Green Terror attack led to a 25-11, 25-11, 25-14 win over Penn State-Harrisburg.
Casey Stump led the Lions (1-16) with 10 assists and three digs.
Lexi Corral (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) and Teryn Rath (Grass Valley, Calif./Bear River) each recorded five kills to lead the McDaniel attack. Folaron and Rose added four each.
Sarah Donnelly (Wilmington, Del./Archmere Academy) added six aces and seven digs.
Three of Donnelly's aces keyed a 6-0 run in the first set before Donnelly and Alyssa Gilboy (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) combined to serve McDaniel to an 8-1 lead in the second set.
The Green Terror opened the third set with six straight points en route to the sweep.
McDaniel returns to action at Dickinson on Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m.
