Box Score 2 ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Madeline Rose
(Soddy Daisy, Tenn./Baylor High) recorded 17 kills and eight total
blocks in a pair of 3-1 non-conference volleyball losses on
Saturday.
The Green Terror (18-8) dropped a 3-1 decision to Mary
Washington before falling by an identical 3-1 score to host St.
Mary's.
In the first match, the Eagles (18-7) took the first set 25-19
before McDaniel evened the match at 1-all with a 25-20 victory.
Mary Washington responded with wins of 25-22 and 25-14 to wrap up
the victory.
Rose and Lexi Corral
(Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) led the offense with 10 kills
each. Rose added four total blocks while Corral added two. Kloe Martin
(Littleton, Colo./Heritage) and Reagan
Folaron (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) added seven
kills each.
Colette
Kellen (Olney, Md./Covenant Life) added 20 assists while Maddie
Moyer (Brookeville, Md./Sherwood) had 16. Kellen and Genna Weger
(Shrewsbury, Pa./Shrewsbury) steadied the defense with 11 digs
each.
In the nightcap, the Green Terror took the opening set 25-14
before the Seahawks (13-7) rallied to win the next three sets by
identical 25-21 scores.
Martin and Folaron led the way with 11 kills each while Rose
added seven kills and four blocks. Corral chipped in nine kills.
Folaron rounded out a double-double performance with 12 digs.
Kellen added 23 assists while Moyer had 17. Weger led the
defense with 19 digs.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Gettysburg on
Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m.
