ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Ryan O'Boyle (North Reading, Mass./Central Catholic) won both of his matches at 133 to lead McDaniel to a 1-1 day in Centennial Conference (CC) wrestling action on Saturday.
The Green Terror (7-8, 2-2 CC) opened the day with a 51-6 victory over Muhlenberg before falling to 19th-ranked Stevens, 31-16.
The Mules (1-7, 0-2 CC) took a 6-0 lead after Jaryd Flank won by forfeit before an O'Boyle 1-minute, 12-second pin knotted the match at 6-all.
Alvontae Drummond (Lincoln, Del./Milford) notched a second-period technical fall for an 11-6 advantage before Mason Goretsas (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) won 15-3 for a 15-6 advantage.
Erik Meyer (Fallston, Md./Archbishop Curley), Luke Yox (Westminster, Md./Liberty), Marvin McKinney (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown), Nick Cross (Centreville, Md./Queen Annes County), Dakota Wilhelm (La Plata, Md./La Plata) and Taylor Avino (Fair Haven, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven) took the remaining six forfeits for the 51-6 victory.
Against the Ducks (9-5, 3-0 CC), Rob Murray staked his squad to a 6-0 lead taking the forfeit at 125.
O'Boyle cut the deficit in half with a 7-1 victory at 133 before Drummond gave McDaniel a 7-6 lead with a 15-4 major decision victory at 141.
Trey Mitchell (Lewes, Del./Caesar Rodney) pushed the lead to 13-6 with a pin three seconds before the end of the bout.
Leo Wortman countered with a pin early in the final period at 157 to close the deficit to one before Conner Bass won 12-4 to put Stevens back in front, 16-13.
Pins from Zach Bass and Ryan Dormann sealed the victory.
Wilhelm made it a 2-0 day at 197, winning 4-1 before Chris Florek rounded out the day with a 3-1 victory for the Ducks at heavyweight.
McDaniel returns to action at Gettysburg on Wednesday, Feb. 5. Match time is 7 p.m.
