Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Emma Wingerd
(Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) finished with 12 points but it was
her final two of the night that proved the most important. The
junior took a pass and rattled home a wide-open 16-footer from the
right wing to give McDaniel a 78-76 Centennial Conference (CC) women's
basketball victory over Gettysburg on Wednesday.

Perez (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) led the Green
Terror (11-4, 6-3 CC) with 17 points, including hitting three
3-pointers to move into a tie for second place on the all-time list
with 117 career triples.
Caroline Murphy recorded 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the
Bullets (9-6, 5-5 CC), who had their 18-game home winning streak
snapped with the loss.
Deadlocked at 76-all after Lindsey
Nichols (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) hit the first of two free
throws, the teams traded missed opportunities before McDaniel took
the ball off a turnover with 16.0 seconds left. Brittney Davis
(Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) brought the ball up the court
and worked off a screen before finding the wide-open Wingerd, who
hit the shot with 3.2 seconds remaining.
Nichols stole the ensuing inbounds pass to seal the win.
Behind a 3-pointer from Allie Eader
(Ijamsville, Md./Linganore), the Green Terror built an early 7-2
lead before the Bullets countered with 17 of the game's next 22
points to open up a 19-12 advantage with 11:12 to play.
Murphy contributed 13 points during the run.
A Perez 3-pointer and Wingerd jumper knotted the game at 23-all
nearly four minutes later.
Gettysburg opened up another six-point advantage before Alyssa March
(Fallston, Md./Fallston) hit a jumper and Perez just beat the
first-half buzzer with a 3-pointer to close the deficit to 37-36 at
the intermission.
The Bullets pushed the lead back out to five on an Emily Duggan
three-point play with 17:15 to play in the second half.
McDaniel did not lead again until Wingerd hit the first of two
free throws with 7:06 remaining for a 59-58 advantage.

McMaster (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) hit a jumper to
respond to her twin sister Cari McMaster's two free throws for a
61-60 lead before Perez hit her 117th 3-pointer with 5:34
showing.
A Murphy layup off a lob pass gave Gettysburg a 70-68 advantage
with 22.4 seconds left before – out of a timeout with 19.1
seconds left – Davis hit a 17-footer at the left elbow to
force overtime with 5.7 seconds showing.
The Green Terror built a 75-72 lead 1:14 into overtime on two
Wingerd free throws before Gettysburg scored the next six and the
Nichols free throw led to the game's 14th tie and the heroics.
McMaster finished with 15 points for McDaniel, all coming after
halftime. Wingerd and Eader added four assists each while Eader
also added five steals.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Ursinus on Saturday.
