Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel built a 5-0 lead at the
intermission en route to an 8-0 win over Neumann in non-conference
women's soccer action on Saturday.
Meghan
Sturgill (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) tallied twice to lead
the Green Terror (3-0), who has not allowed a goal in its first
three games of the season – the program's longest
shutout streak to start a season since 2000.
Briana King made nine saves for the Knights (0-3), who were
outshot 26-5 in the game.
Maggie
Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) tallied her fourth
goal of the season off a feed from Nicole Hill
(Bowie, Md./Bowie) just 10:45 into the game for a 1-0 lead.
Quinn then found Sturgill 12 minutes later to double the
advantage.
Nearly 10 minutes later, freshman Sam Gasior
(Fallston, Md./Fallston) registered her first collegiate goal.
Sturgill and Allie Sokolik
(Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) tallied 2 minutes, 12 seconds apart to make
it a 5-0 game at the break.
Hill needed just 39 seconds into the second half to stretch the
advantage to six before Julia Pope scored
off the second of Hill's assists at the 49:58 mark.
Amanda
Archer (East Windsor, N.J./Notre Dame) registered her first
career goal in the 81st minute to set the final margin.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against York (Pa.) on
Wednesday. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
