Jacobs makes seven saves

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg broke a scoreless deadlock in the 78th minute to register a 1-0 Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer victory over McDaniel on Wednesday.

Haley Jacobs (Forest Hill, Md./North Harford), the reigning CC Defensive Player of the Week, made seven saves in goal for the Green Terror (10-3, 4-2 CC), who had its seven-game winning streak snapped with the loss.

Brigid Behan finally broke through for the Bullets (10-1-3, 5-1-1 CC), who remain atop the CC standings with 16 points.

Molly Phillips found Behan, who played a ball in the bottom-right corner of the net from the top of the box for the game's lone goal at the 77:07 mark.

Gettysburg finished with a 21-2 advantage in shots.

Julia Pope (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) and Christina Wroblewski (Glen Mills, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) had one shot each for McDaniel.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Haverford on Saturday. Game time is 4 p.m.
