Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – Swarthmore scored the last three goals of the game to defeat McDaniel 3-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action on Wednesday.
Luis Calderon (Silver Spring, Md./Bullis) scored in the seventh minute to stake the Green Terror (6-4-3, 0-3-2 CC) to an early 1-0 lead.
McWelling Todman broke a 1-all deadlock for the 24th-ranked Garnet (7-2-4, 3-0-2 CC) late in the first half.
Calderon took a ball from Jim Caulfield (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) before blasting it just inside the top-right corner for a 1-0 lead just 6:36 into the game.
Just over three minutes later, Jack Momeyer headed in a Jake Weiner throw-in to knot the game.
Play alternated from one end to the other until Todman blasted a long-range shot into the lower-right corner, breaking the deadlock with 3:06 to play in the first half.
Chris Lynn set the final margin, floating a shot over a drawn-out keeper with 1:00 to play.
McDaniel finished with an 11-7 advantage in shots.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Ursinus on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
