Box Score 2 WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel rallied from an 11-7 deficit in the deciding set to defeat Penn State-Abington 16-14 and complete a 2-0 home tri-match in non-conference volleyball action on Saturday.
The Green Terror (2-1) took the first two sets 25-18 and 25-23 before the Lions (1-2) rallied with wins of 25-23 and 25-13 to force the deciding fifth set.
Earlier in the day, McDaniel swept Keystone (0-3), 25-17, 25-14, 25-17.
Freshman Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) notched a pair of double-doubles, recording 10 kills and 11 digs in the opening match before downing 19 kills, including the final two of the match, and adding 10 digs against Penn State-Abington.
Colette Kellen (Derwood, Md./Covenant Life School) added 48 assists in the two matches, including 28 against the Lions, and 21 digs, including 13 in the five-set match.
Olivia Kunc (Chesterbrook, Pa./Conestoga) recorded the Green Terror's first 30-dig match since 2008 with 30 against Abington. She added 14 against the Giants.
Abby Millan led Penn State-Abington with 17 kills and 19 disgs while Johangelie Thomas had 13 kills and 12 digs.
Out a timeout down four, the Lions were whistled for back-to-back double contacts to make it an 11-9 score.
A Melissa Weldon (Broomall, Pa./Country Day School of the Sacred Heart) kill drew the hosts within one and forced a timeout.
Six straight errors, including three service errors, leveled the set at 14-all before Martin dropped down a pair of Kellen sets with authority to complete the rally.
McDaniel took advantage of three early attacking error to build a 6-2 lead in the first set en route to the seven-point win.

Against Keystone, birthday girl Bryanna Smith (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) recorded a kill for a 3-2 lead in the first set and then served nine straight points to open up a 12-2 lead en route to the team's first set victory in 365 days.
A pair of Hannah Krobock (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) kills and one of Smith's three aces in the match capped a 9-1 start to the second set.
Back-to-back Weldon kills keyed an 11-2 run midway through the third set en route to a sweep that snapped a 29-match losing streak for McDaniel.
