Box Score Yellow Jackets blank McDaniel at Herb Lauffer
ERIE, Pa. – Ryan Hulings made three saves in a shutout,
leading Baldwin-Wallace to a 2-0 victory over McDaniel in the first
round of the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament hosted by Penn
State-Behrend in non-conference men's soccer action on
Saturday.
The Yellow Jackets (2-0) tallied a goal in each half, peppering
the Green Terror (0-1) with 32 shots to advance to the title game
against the host Lions. McDaniel managed just five shots and will
play in Sunday's consolation game against Utica.
Freshman Zach Nibbelink (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) made nine
saves in his debut between the pipes for the Green Terror.
Carlin Vandendriessche scored off a deflection in the 36th
minute to stake Baldwin-Wallace to a 1-0 lead.
Sean Maloney found Tyler Leister to add an insurance goal with
12:28 to play.
Game time on Sunday is 2 p.m.
