Cardinals hand Green Terror 10th loss of season

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Claudia Jean recorded 12 kills to lead Catholic to a 3-0 win over McDaniel in non-conference volleyball action on Tuesday.

Kristen Nuckles (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond-Suffolk Academy) and Annie McShea (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) led the Green Terror (1-10) with eight kills apiece.

The Cardinals (6-4) took the opening set 25-14 before narrowly escaping with the sweep, winning each of the next two sets by two points. The hosts took set two 25-23 and the third set, 29-27.

Kelly Toms (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) added seven kills for McDaniel. Jackie Hawkins (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) contributed 22 assists to the attack.

McShea added two aces.

McDaniel returns to action at Bryn Mawr on Saturday. Match time is 1 p.m.
