Spartans tally once in each half for tournament title

YORK, Pa. – Justin Facer scored in the 23rd minute to lead No. 10 York (Pa.) to a 2-0 win over McDaniel in championship game of the Country Inn & Suites/Parma Pizza York College Soccer Tournament in non-conference men's soccer action on Sunday.

Zach Nibbelink (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) made eight saves for the Green Terror (2-3), who was outshot 21-4 in the game.

The Spartans (4-1) also added a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Facer finished a feed from Kemal Nuspahic at the 22:39 mark.

In the 72nd minute, Max Howie finished a sequence of York shots with a tally for the two-goal margin.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Elizabethtown on Wednesday. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
