Box Score 2 Green Terror drops two 3-0 decisions at W&L
LEXINGTON, Va. – Annie McShea
(Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) recorded 11 kills in a pair of
losses for McDaniel on the second day of the Washington and Lee
Invitational in non-conference volleyball action on Saturday.
The Green Terror (0-8) fell to Averett (25-16, 25-16, 25-19) and
Transylvania (25-8, 25-9, 25-10) by identical 3-0 scores for its
first eight-match skid to start a season since opening 0-10 in
1995.
Against Averett, Kristen Nuckles
(Suffolk, Va./Nansemond-Suffolk Academy) led the way with nine
kills while McShea and Kelly Toms
(Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) had five kills apiece.
Jackie
Hawkins (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) added 19 assists while
Katie
Ferguson (Dover, Pa./Northern York) steadied the defense with
12 digs.
Against Transylvania, McShea had six kills and Hawkins notched
nine assists to pace the offense. Ferguson and Hawkins steadied the
defense with 13 and 11 digs, respectively.
The Green Terror returns to action at Frostburg on Wednesday.
