Green Terror falls to Ursinus, downs Muhlenberg in CC tri
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Brock Glotfelty (Grantsville,
Md./Northern Garrett) notched a pair of win for McDaniel
in a 1-1 day at a Centennial Conference (CC) wrestling tri-match
hosted by Ursinus on Saturday.
The Green Terror (8-7, 5-2 CC) dropped a 25-12 decision to
Ursinus before downing Muhlenberg 39-7 in the final action of the
regular season.
Against the Bears (10-1, 5-1 CC), the hosts won seven straight
bouts to turn a 6-0 deficit into a 25-6 lead.
After Earl Eppard (Baltimore, Md./Lansdowne)
notched a 7-3 win at 125 and Tommy Goretsas (Hampstead,
Md./North Carroll) recorded a 6-1 victory at 133,
Dan Glover started the seven-bout stretch with a
4-2 win at 141.
A John Whitham injury default at 157 and
Mike Kevlin 9-0 major decision at 174 accounted
for the only non-decision victories.
Glotfelty wrapped up the match with a 1-minute, 52-second pin at
heavyweight.
Against the Mules (0-13, 0-6 CC), Eppard opened the bout with
one of four forfeit wins for McDaniel.
Goretsas stretched the lead to 9-0 with an 11-6 victory before
Kevin Homan made it 9-3 with a 9-6 win at 141.
A Brent Lowe (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park)
first-period technical fall pushed the advantage to 14-3 before
Keith Swanson notched a 14-5 victory to make it a
14-7 match.
A Tony Vorndran (Millville, N.J./Millville) 8-5
win and forfeit wins from Scott Forrester (Manchester,
N.J./Manchester Twp.), Will Yeo (Lexington Park,
Md./Great Mills) and Joe Camlin (Westminster,
Md./Winters Mill) sealed the match.
Glotfelty concluded the match with a 14-2 win at heavyweight.
McDaniel returns to action at the CC Championships hosted by
Stevens on Saturday. Action begins at 11 a.m.
