Box Score Diplomats score twice in each half for win
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Ben Beaver recorded a goal and an
assist to lead Franklin & Marshall to a 4-0 victory over
McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action on
Saturday.
The Diplomats (5-3-2, 2-1-2 CC) tallied two goals in each half
to leapfrog the Green Terror (5-7, 2-3 CC) in the conference
standings and into playoff position with four games to play.
Zach Nibbelink (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) made five saves
for McDaniel.
Beaver opened the scoring with an unassisted marker in the 28th
minute before Colin McMillian stretched the lead to 2-0 with 4:34
to play in the first half.
Just 9:43 into the second half, Beaver found Eric Elicker for a
3-0 lead before Giuseppe Bua set the final margin with an
unassisted tally in the 72nd minute.
Franklin & Marshall finished with a 13-8 advantage in shots
while both teams took three corner kicks.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Catholic on
Wednesday. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
