Fords hold Green Terror to 31 points to wrap up perfect season

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Jenine Abbassi recorded 13 kills to lead Haverford to a 3-0 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball action on Saturday.

The Fords (17-12, 10-0 CC), the top seed in next week's CC tournament, wrapped up an undefeated conference season with a sweep, 25-10, 25-9, 25-12.

The Green Terror (3-31, 2-8 CC) also dropped a 3-0 match to Cabrini, falling 25-14, 25-19, 25-11.

McDaniel finished with just 14 kills in the Haverford match. Jackie Hawkins (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) and Annie McShea (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) had four each while Maggie Fennelly (Madison, N.J./Madison) and Katie Ferguson (Dover, Pa./Northern York) had three apiece.

Hawkins added nine assists and seven digs. Sarah Byron (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) steadied the defense with eight digs.
