Box Score Bullets down McDaniel 4-1 to keep playoff hopes alive
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Eric Hynes scored a pair of goals to lead Gettysburg to a 4-1 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action on Saturday.
The Bullets (5-9-2, 4-3-2 CC) kept its playoff hopes alive with three second-half goals and will claim the fifth, and final, CC tournament spot with a Haverford loss or tie on Saturday night.
Eddy Lingue (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) staked the Green Terror (5-12, 2-7 CC) to a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute.
Hynes evened the game with 4:18 to play in the first half, going top shelf for an unassisted marker.
Just 58 seconds into the second half, Hynes gave Gettysburg the advantage with a touch shot past the keeper.
Craig Heckman stretched the lead to 3-1 at the 51:20 mark before Kyle DeBlois set the final margin in the 63rd minute.
Gettysburg finished with a 22-7 advantage in shots.
