Box Score Garnet scores three goals in 10 minutes to key 4-0 win
SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Morgan Langley recorded two goals and an
assist to lead No. 1 Swarthmore to a 4-0 victory over McDaniel in
Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action on
Saturday.
Playing its first-ever game as the top-ranked team in Division
III, the Garnet (12-1-2, 5-0-2 CC) scored three goals in 9 minutes,
20 seconds and finished the game with a 21-4 advantage in
shots.
Zach Nibbelink (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) made 11 saves in
goal for the Green Terror (5-10, 2-5 CC), who needs a pair of wins
and some help in the final week of the season to make the
conference tournament.
Kieran Reichart found Langley in a 2-on-1 situation to open the
scoring at the 26:56 mark.
Just 2:12 later, it was Langley feed Fabian Castro in a similar
situation to double the advantage.
Langley capped the flurry, finishing off a Castro bicycle pass
in the 37th minute.
Casto crossed to Noah Sterngold, who netted his first career
goal in the 69th minute to set the final margin.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Dickinson on
Tuesday. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
