Box Score Zuvic leads way with match-high 13 kills
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Lauren Yuri recorded seven kills to
lead Dickinson to a 3-1 victory over McDaniel in Centennial
Conference (CC) volleyball action on Wednesday.
The Red Devils (5-11, 2-2 CC) took the first set 25-20 before
stretching their match lead to 2-0 with a 25-17 win in the second
set. The Green Terror (2-16, 1-4 CC) took the third set 25-22
before Dickinson closed out the match with a 25-17 victory in the
fourth set.
Jackie Hawkins (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) led the way for
McDaniel with nine kills and 10 assists. Kelly Toms
(Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) chipped in eight kills while Annie McShea
(Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) and Maggie Fennelly (Madison,
N.J./Madison) added seven kills apiece.
Zuvic added 14 digs for the Red Devils while Joanna DeCastro
steadied the defense with 15 digs. Liz Norris had four blocks while
Zuvic, Kaylee Britain and Jessy Cooper had three blocks each.
Sarah
Byron (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) steadied the Green Terror
defense with 21 digs while adding nine assists. Hawkins added three
aces while Sarah Mason (Westminster, Md./Westminster) had 13 digs
and three aces.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Ursinus on Saturday.
