Green Terror takes part in non-scoring meet
GRANTHAM, Pa. - Tom Boehm (Sea Cliff, N.Y./North
Shore) went 2-2 at 157 to lead McDaniel at the 2010
Messiah Open in wrestling action on Saturday.
At the non-scoring meet, Jimmy Selfinger (Birdsboro,
Pa./Daniel Boone) added a 2-2 outing at heavyweight with a
pin.
At 157, Boehm opened his day with an 8-4 win over Lycoming's
Mike Ward before adding an 11-9 victory over
Messiah's Luke Speers.
After a first-period pin dropped Boehm to the consolation
bracket, the junior feel via second-period technical fall (17-0) to
Drexel's Joe Kyle.
At heavyweight, Selfinger was pinned by the No. 2 seed
Zeke Pyle (Delaware Valley) in 6:32 before
notching a pair of wins in the consolation bracket.
Selfinger dropped Steve Halliday (Lycoming) in
18 seconds and added a 10-3 win over Lycoming's Alex
Bause before falling 10-0 to the fifth-seed Dan
Walker.
Mark Lobeck (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster
Catholic), Torin Lehmann (Sitka,
Alaska/Sitka) and Mason Goldbach (Wake Forest,
N.C./Wake Forest-Rolesville) added single wins for
McDaniel.
Lobeck notched a 1-minute, 30-second fall at 125 while Lehmann
was victorious with a 1-minute, 45-second pin at 157.
Goldbach's victory via fall in 2:43 at 165.
McDaniel returns to action in a Centennial Conference quad meet
at home on Sunday. Action begins at 11 a.m.
