Green Terror build early lead for 24-16 win at Johns

BALTIMORE, Md. - McDaniel won the first four matches of the
night, capped by a Brent Lowe (Dumfries, Va./Forest
Park) major decision at 149, to defeat Johns Hopkins 24-16
in the Centennial Conference (CC) wrestling opener for both teams
on Wednesday.
Will Yeo (Lexington Park, Md./Great Mills)
later added a major decision for the Green Terror (4-4, 1-0 CC) and
Brock Glotfelty (Grantsville, Md./Northern
Garrett) won by forfeit to seal the victory for the
visitors.
Reid Mosquera led the Blue Jays (2-6, 0-1 CC)
with a 4-minute, 15-second pin at 197.
Earl Eppard (Baltimore, Md./Lansdowne) opened
the match with a 10-2 victory at 125 before Tommy Goretsas
(Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) tallied five points in the
final 15 seconds for a 12-6 win at 133.
Mike Tancredi (Wall, N.J./Wall Twp.) stretched
the lead to 10-0 on a takedown in the final seconds for a 3-1 win
at 141.
Lowe's 15-2 victory staked McDaniel to a 14-0 advantage.
Michael Testa (157) and Eric
Levenseller (165) notched back-to-back decision to make it
a 14-6 match before Andrew Giannascoli had a 15-4
win at 174 to pull the hosts within 14-10.
Yeo won 12-2 to seal the victory after the 184 match.
McDaniel returns to action at the Messiah Open on Saturday.
