Green Terror finish with 3-1 showing at Spartan

YORK, Pa. - Taylor Herrgott (Derwood,
Md./Magruder) recorded 15 kills and four aces to lead
McDaniel to a 2-0 showing on the second day of the Spartan Best
Western Wingate Invitational hosted by York (Pa.) in non-conference
volleyball action on Saturday.
The Green Terror (10-6) recorded a sweep of Moravian to open the
day, winning by scores of 25-21, 25-21 and 25-11 before downing
Rowan in three, 25-21, 25-11, 25-11.
Against the Greyhounds, Herrgott, Anne McShea
(Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) and Kristen
Nuckles (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond-Suffolk Academy) each
recorded seven kills to lead the attack.
Jackie Hawkins (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial)
added 21 assists while Herrgott and Katie Ferguson (Dover,
Pa./Northern York) each had three aces.
Ferguson steadied the defense with 15 digs.
In the second match against the Profs, Herrgott, Nuckles and
Sara Hanlon (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson)
tallied eight kills apiece while Hawkins added 24 assists.
Kelly Toms (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown)
recorded three of the team's 11 aces.
Ferguson added another 16 digs.
The Green Terror returns to action at Bryn Mawr on Thursday.
