Box Score Green Terror notches 3-2 victory for first conference win of
season
WESTMINSTER, Md. - Kelly Scheler (Forest Hill, Md./C.
Milton Wright) tallied the eventual game-winner in the
38th minute as part of McDaniel's 3-2 Centennial Conference (CC)
women's soccer victory over Bryn Mawr on Saturday.
The Green Terror (2-6, 1-1 CC) built a 2-0 lead in the game's
first 16:43 en route its first conference win of the season.
Emily Levine and Laura
Constanzo each tallied for the Owls (5-3-1, 0-2 CC), who
found themselves in a 3-1 halftime hole before holding McDaniel off
the board in the second half.
At the 14:40 mark, freshman Cara Roig (Bel Air, Md./Bel
Air) finished a Melanie Armstrong (Mt. Sinai,
N.Y./Mt. Sinai) assist for her first collegiate goal.
Just 2:03 later, freshman Liz Beall (Westminster,
Md./Winters Mill) stretched the lead to 2-0 with an
unassisted tally off a rebound.
Levine cut the deficit in half at the 31:59 mark before Scheler
stretched the lead back to two 7:05 before the intermission.
A Costanzo penalty kick goal in the 62nd minute set the final
margin.
McDaniel finished with a 17-12 advantage in shots while Bryn
Mawr had an 8-7 edge in corner kicks.
Leanne Holinger (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill)
made six saves for the Green Terror.
Allaina Propst and Rebecca
Joseph made two saves apiece, splitting time in net for
the Owls.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Swarthmore on
Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
