GRANTHAM, Pa. – Zach Hetrick (Hanover, Pa./South
Western) notched a 3-0 day but McDaniel went 1-2 in a
non-conference wrestling quad meet at Messiah on Saturday.
The Green Terror (8-13) dropped a 25-17 decision to No. 28 Messiah
before falling to King's, 24-12. McDaniel defeated Gettysburg
40-17 in a non-conference bout.
Hetrick led the way with a two major decision and a first-period
fall while Brock Glotfelty (Grantsville, Md./Northern
Garrett) also recorded a 3-0 day.
Against Messiah, Danny Lethbridge recorded a pin
with seven seconds remaining in the bout to give the Falcons a 6-0
lead they would not relinquish.
Tim Hall (Westminster, Md./Westminster) recorded a
10-0 win at 133 to pull his team within 6-4 but Messiah took the
next three bouts before Hetrick's 9-1 victory at 165.
Ryan Deiter (Clarksville, Md./River Hill) added a
12-6 win while Glotfelty rounded out the day with a 58-second
pin.
Against the Bullets, Hall, Sean McGarry (Berlin,
Md./Stephen Decatur), Brent Lowe (Dumfries,
Va./Forest Park) and Glotfelty were all awarded forfeit
wins to key the victory.
Hetrick notched a 10-2 win at 165 while Deiter and Joe
Camlin (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) each recorded
pins.
King's won the first five matches to take a 15-0 lead before
Hetrick tallied a 56-second pin to breakup the
shutout.
Will Yeo (Lexington Park, Md./Great Mills) and
Glotfelty rounded out the day with 4-0 wins.
McDaniel returns to action in a Centennial Conference quad match at
home on Saturday. Action begins at 11 a.m.
