Fords rally for 3-2 win to eliminate Green Terror on final
day
WESTMINSTER, Md. - Lanni Reisinger (Lemoyne, Pa./Cedar
Cliff) recorded 14 kills but McDaniel fell 3-2 to
25th-ranked Haverford in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball
action on Saturday.
The Green Terror (17-12, 5-5 CC) dropped its first five-set
match of the season after the Fords (28-3, 10-0 CC) took the
deciding set 15-12 to finish the CC slate undefeated and eliminated
McDaniel from postseason contention.
The Green Terror took the opening set 25-23 before Haverford
evened the match with a 25-19 win. McDaniel won set three 25-23
before the Fords forced the deciding set, 25-21.
Taylor Herrgott (Derwood, Md./Magruder) and
Sara Hanlon (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson)
added 13 kills apiece. Kristen Nuckles (Suffolk,
Va./Nansemond-Suffolk Academy) added 44 assists to the
attack and 28 digs to the defense.
Anne McShea (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas
Johnson) and Katie Ferguson (Dover, Pa./Northern
York) added with 19 digs each while Reisinger had 18.
Herrgott notched six total blocks while Hanlon and Nuckles had
four each.
