Green Terror notches 3-1 win behind 15 kills from Herrgott
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Taylor Herrgott (Derwood,
Md./Magruder) notched 15 kills to lead McDaniel to a 3-1
win at Ursinus in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball action on
Saturday.
The Green Terror (15-9, 4-2 CC) took the first set 25-19 and the
second set 25-20 before the Bears (-13, 2-5 CC) staved off the
sweep with a 25-16 victory in set three. McDaniel capped the match
with a 25-23 win in the fourth set.
Mary Kate Wilmoth led Ursinus with 16 kills and
19 digs.
Anne McShea (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas
Johnson) and Sara Hanlon (Frederick, Md./Gov.
Thomas Johnson) each added 12 kills to the attack.
Jackie Hawkins (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial)
contributed all 38 assists to the offense.
Hanlon added five total blocks while Hawkins had two.
Katie Ferguson (Dover, Pa./Northern York) and
Lanni Reisinger (Lemoyne, Pa./Cedar Cliff)
steadied the defense with 25 and 12 digs, respectively.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Gettysburg on
Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m.
